What will I find out from the DNA test?
You will receive DNA Matches with people who are related to you, who share a common ancestor with you. These matches are labelled Close, Intermediate, Distant. A close match includes; Parents, Children, Silbings, Aunts, Uncles Grandparents and 1st cousins. Intermediate includes 2nd cousins and 3rd cousins. Distant includes 4th and 5th cousin and beyond.
You will also receive an Ethnicity Estimate - this is an estimate of your ethnicity with percentages from different regions. Adopted people can use this to get an idea about the ethnicity of their biological parents. Each company uses different methods and data to calculate this finding, and can be different from each other.
