How is DNA helping Cambodians?
DNA testing can be a crucial tool for Cambodians searching for biological relatives, especially when documents are missing, incomplete, or unreliable. Thanks to our efforts, hundreds of Cambodian DNA profiles have now been added to the MyHeritage database, making meaningful matches increasingly possible.
While many matches are still distant, each additional test strengthens the network and improves the chances of closer connections. Because DNA testing is still not widely accessible or affordable in Cambodia, our focus remains on expanding participation and increasing representation. By supporting Khmer individuals to test and join our DNACambodia Project, we help build a stronger foundation for family reconnections now and in the future.
